WHAT ARE YOU? Let's Talk Mixed Race with Emma Slade Edmondson and Nicole Ocran
2:00pm, Saturday 28th of June, Conway Hall
"What are you?" It’s a question that cuts deep - and one that every mixed-race person has heard. This event isn’t about simple answers. It’s about real stories, honest conversations, and the richness of mixed-race identity.
In this powerful live Q&A, writers, hosts of the Mixed Up Podcast and cultural commentators Emma Slade Edmondson and Nicole Ocran unpack what it means to exist in the in-between. With humour, heart, and hard truths, they’ll explore identity, belonging, code-switching, beauty standards, representation and the legacy of being mixed in a world obsessed with boxes.
Expect unfiltered discussion, audience interaction, and a community-driven atmosphere that centres mixed voices and experiences.
Whether you're mixed-race yourself, connected to the community, simply curious or someone torn between labels - this event will challenge what you think you know about race, culture, and identity in 2025.
