Deesha Dyer: The White House, The Obamas & Making An Impact

Deesha Dyer: The White House, The Obamas & Making An Impact
7:00pm, Wednesday 20th of August, Virtual via Zoom
Deesha Dyer applied for a White House internship in 2009 as a thirty-one-year-old part-time community college student. A few years later, she was running President Obama’s social calendar as White House Social Secretary.
In spite of the little voice in her head telling her she didn't deserve to be there, Deesha ended up with a front-row seat to defining moments in history while curating some of the flyest parties 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has ever seen.
Join us as Deesha shares her road map from imposter to impact, her passion for community, and a few behind-the-scenes stories from a White House that seems as revolutionary today as it was then.
Deesha Dyer is a philanthropist, award-winning strategist, and the author of Undiplomatic. She is currently the founder and president of the social impact agency Hook & Fasten, where she coordinates transformational partnerships by utilising a company’s funds, skills, resources, or products to ignite sustainable change in communities.
