7pm, Monday 22nd July, Groucho Club
Stella Creasy, MP for Walthamstow, and Nandini Archer, the Assistant Editor of openDemocracy will be joining us to discuss abortion, a topic that is hotting up both here and across the pond.
The United States, the richest and most powerful nation on the planet, is in the midst of a heated debate over a woman’s right to choose. This debate may be separated from us by an ocean but we mustn’t forget that there are parts of the UK where women have never had the right to an Abortion and still don’t. We have our own Alabama hovering just to the left of the Isle of Man and there are rumours that the freshly empowered right wing of Europe are trying to put abortion back onto the agenda. Join us, Nandini and Stella (parliamentary business allowing) to discuss.
